Family owned and operated since 1974
McColly Real Estate was founded in 1974 by Ronald F. McColly. After obtaining his real estate license in 1969, Ron first went to work for a small company, then moved to a larger company before deciding to go out on his own.
McColly Realtors, Inc. was thus born. As with all start-up companies, survival was first and foremost. The number one goal at the time was building a staff so as to establish a name in the marketplace.
In 1976, McColly joined the Century 21 franchise. Even though Century 21 McColly Realtors had grown to 3 sales offices and nearly 70 sales associates, they had reached a point where too many Century 21 companies had saturated the market thus limiting the growth potential for McColly Realtors.
In 1986, McColly joined the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service. In 2000, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service became a part of the GMAC family of home services. In 2003, in a strategic move designed to advance the growth and services of the company, McColly chose to affiliate with RELO. RELO is the dominant global network of leading independant real estate companies.
Today, McColly Real Estate is the largest independently owned real estate company in Northwest Indiana and Chicago Southland. They have fourteen offices throughout Lake, Porter, and Jasper Counties in Indiana and Cook County, Illinois, with over 525 sales associates, over 75 full-time support staff members and participate in the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors and South/Southwest Association of Realtors in Illinois. Ancillary services such as McColly Community Title Company, First Developers of Indiana, McColly Commercial Division, McColly Mortgage, McColly New Homes Division, McColly School of Real Estate and McColly Referrals, Inc., are all parts of the McColly Companies which enable McColly Real Estate to provide a full range of services to buyers and sellers.
McColly has endured many uncertain times - super inflated interest rates, mill layoffs and closings, and many geo-political events, to name a few. All of these events had strained the economy on both national and local levels, having a direct impact on the real estate industry. However, McColly, having developed systems to combat such market volatility has been able to maintain a competitive and leading role in Northwest Indiana and Chicago Southland real estate.
Having acheived over $8 billion in sales since the company began, McColly Real Estate will continue to press on into the new millennium providing the same high level quality of service and dedication to customer satisfaction as they have done so successfully in the past.
